Saugeen Indian Reserve 29 Real Estate
LEASED LAND COTTAGES - The Land Lease is a 5-year lease which began May 1, 2021 and runs until 2026. At each 5 year interval the lease amount is subject to review based on land values at that time and any revisions to the lease amount will take effect.
The Leases are for “recreational purposes” and full time occupancy is only permitted from May 1st until October 31st of each year and for a maximum of 10 days per month from November 1st until April 30th. At the Saugeen Indian Band’s discretion, cottagers may be allowed to occupy their cottage for up 8 months. The reason for this is to discourage year round occupancy as the Saugeen Indian Band does not collect school taxes or bus children to school from the Leased Land area.
